今天读到AMJ上的一篇文章，里面有一个Business School Research Rankings。文章虽然是2000年的，但是我觉得这个排名目前还是有一定的参考价值，所以把它贴了出来。全文是James S Trieschmann, Alan R Dennis, Gregory B Northcraft, Albert W Niemi Jr. "Serving multiple constituencies in business schools: M.B.A. program versus research performance" Academy of Management Journal. Have read this before,actually have read pretty many similar papers recently. Everyone has its methodology, obviously; however, doubt the reliability of such methodology. For example, publication is one big factor. Everyone knows that some guys would like to lay back after tenture and consequently fewer publications from them. Yet, that they don't publish papers doesn't mean they are not active in research, and actually they still can help PhD candidates in seminars or like. Of course, in this paper, editor is one factor, but editors are jammed into handful schools, so I believe this factor might be better substituted by reviewer. And this paper carries too much weight on the size of the faculty.

任何研究都会有这样那样的缺陷。这个paper发在AMJ上，是management里面非常top的journal。我想他的methodology是严格到一定程度了，吹毛求疵就没有必要了。
