I had some interviews from my safety net schools, and I had got offer from one of them on Feb. I also had an interview from one other school, which is the best left unrejected in my list. Now everything is pending since not only myself but also those safety net schools are waiting for the decision from that school.
Beside that you will definitely not getting a addimission if you perform lousy English in interview, interview doesn't mean too much in terms of the decision predictability. Some schools interview only those candidates who will be admitted in order to determine the sequence of offer, and other schools interview as many applicants as they can to construct who is going to get the addimission (not neccessarily with funding).
USC admits 7 people? Wow, that's quite a lot. cccstarysky, why make such a hasty conclusion? You're quite likely to get the offer. Good luck & prepare your life in LA~
I just called UW-Seattle PhD program office. The staff told me they haven't reached the decision yet. I am also applying for Finance PhD program.
BTW, how do you find out they won't have interview and wait-list? by phone?
I called them monday...one guy picked up the phone and told me they have already made the offer and are waiting for response...The number is 206-543-4111.
I think I should clarify this. The professor said they would send out 7 offers, but he also mentioned that they expect 4-5 people to accept the offers.
