Sorry, UW-Madison is having the spring break right now. Since I am out of town currently, I can't get any information. BUT from my previous w/ Toni Whited, I know that the Faculty will not recess (unless they choose to. Seems majority of them will work.)
Henly, I can help you to check it out as: 1, I am in this program; 2, I am taking the Chair of RMI program's course; 3, I do know some TAs and profs here. I will try to help you to get your info once I return on campus.
Ms Actuarial Sci. accepts about 30 or less students. Most of the students in the program are mainland chinese students. I talked w/ some student in this program, you need to have a strong math/stats background as well as good GPA (seems like bs, isn't it?) I heard the MS Act. Sci. program here ranks top in this country, which means the competitiveness is pretty tough. Have you guys heard of Oberlin College? the Top 5 Liberal Arts College in the U.S.? I know two shanghai ppl who got their bachelor degree from Oberlin then studying in the MS Act. Sci. program here------ In other word, it's tough to get in. Oh, btw, it's really a good job market out there for the Act. Sci. major students.
