other concerns of Yale (data collected from http://www.businessweek.com/bschools/05/full_time_profiles/yale.htm)
1.the average Gmat score is falling in last three years from 703 to 696 to 683
In 2003, the average is 703, the same as some top 10 schools and better than most 15-25 schools.
In 2004, 696, still ok but began to fall.
In 2005, 683, no more than other 15-25 schools.
In the same time, Emory increased from 676 to 680 to 681.
2.Also is the Yield rate.
In 2003,62%,2004,42%,2005,37%. dramatic fall.
In the same time, Emory increased from 28% to 37% to 39%.
3.Though we say Gmat is not very important in the application process, we see the top 3 schools has the average as 710 or more, the top 10 has 700 or more and the second tier has 680 or less.
Also, the second tier has a yield less than 40%.
I had the interview of Yale and still wait for the final decision. I think Yale do has some advantages than other 15-25 schools, such as its reputation and location. While at least in the past 3 years, Yale has been on the way downward and can't recruit enough qualified applicants.
