8年国内投行,T600,G710,申请建议?

国内从事投行８年，今后仍想继续在此领域工作。托福ＴＷＥ只有４分，不太想考了。想申请今年美国的ＭＢＡ，各位能否给点建议？哪两个学校申请成功的可能性较高？申请费太贵，只想申请两所。谢！

楼主和richard, 我也有个问题请教．banking和investment　management　是不一样的吗？具体分别是做些什么样的工作呢？如果是想转行做投行，３年的会计工作经验＋２年ＭＢＡ合适吗？这样的背景可以去投行的什么部门做什么职位呢？

想想我的同行为了心疼申请费只想申请两所, 你们哪个不申请个三个五个十个八个的?所以国内这个行业没法做了, 呵呵,开个玩笑. 事实上若不是保荐代表人, 在这个行业再做下去是没大意思.

上面我专指内资的投行.INVESTMENT BANKING和INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT当然不一样了.前者主要包括帮助企业发行上市(IPO)和购并(M&A),也有人认为范围要再广一些. 后者主要包括证券投资和股权投资,也就是西方常说的PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT和 PRIVATE EQUITY. 当然合适. 去什么部门要看你的兴趣了. 至于什么职位,好象不管是内资还是外资都要从头做起. 外资大的投行一般都是从ANALYST开始,很少有人从ASSOCIATE开始.

When interviewed, the interviewer asked me about the difference between China investment banking and US investment banking.  I sumarized as follows:

1. Project managers in China have a more wider business scope, sometimes engaging in the entire process and in various industries.

2. Investment banking activities in China are more relevant to reform of State-owned enterprises and regulation of private ones. We should sometimes solve China-specific problems such as corporate governance transition, placement of former employees, etc.

3. Investment banking in China is less technical. Now we have limited financial products and tools, and we seldom adopt financial models in our work.

We are learning more from Western mature capital markets. In fact, China capital market is now growing very fast.
