但是e中if 和because 都只能是连词（美国传统词典），两个连词连用，感觉也不好啊，请指教

从意思判断，B是避免被复制的设备，E是设备的复制被避免。

逻辑角度，避免设备讲不通，应该是避免复制。选E。

1。从最浅层的方面看，duplicated facilities不如the duplication of facilities精确和地道，但并非致命的逻辑错误。
2。solely没有表达出only中仅仅的条件意思
3。个人理解，很关键的一点in that 在此处不如because。尽管in that 有因为之意，但两者用法是有差别的，不同场合用不同的词，难以一言蔽之，可以去查查大型辞典，尤其是大型英英词典。

另外，我认为if only 此处不能做“只要“解，否则逻辑混乱。而应如gemj所言，if only because做“如果仅仅因为“解，分别是三个不同的词。从逻辑上讲，这也是使得句意最连贯的选项。但我的疑问是两个连词如此靠近，从语法规则上感觉好像不对，但显然此处用法是非常通顺的。
不知大家对连词连用方面有什么心得？

btw, 我不认为if only做副词，我只在《英汉简明词典〉中见过如此解释，其它大型词典（尤其是英文词典）并没有这种表述。《英汉简明词典〉对付普通考试还可以，但在对付gmat,gre这类考试就不行了，错误太多了，主要表现在1）词义混淆或错误，2）词性标注错误。
if only译为汉语并在省略的情况下是可以做副词解的，但在英文环境下我觉得值得商榷。
