以下是引用小狗熊在2006-2-4 12:04:00的发言:Hi! I like to hear some experiences of B-School PhD re-application. I got a feeling that I'm probably going to have to reapply for the following reasons: 1. The PhD admission process seems to be pretty random and subjective. 2. It seems to be pretty easy for the secretaries to lose part of the application materials even though everything is sent in a single package. 3. The schools that I applied to are all pretty competitive (UT Austin, W.P.Carey, Kellogg, Columbia, Wharton, Marshall and Fuqua). I hope to hear comments on why you failed the last time round and why you are or might reapply again.
1. I don't think Ph.D applicants admission is randomly selected. Only those qualified applicants have interest close to one of the faculty members' research focus will be recruited.
2. You application materials may be passed onto several faculty members. Sometimes they do disappear.
3. If you can apply for different levels B-schools, you chance of getting into a program will be better. The requirements for a Ph.D applicants is much more higher than a MBA applicants.
4. Only if your stated information in your application has a noticable change, you don't need to reapply for the same schools that you already sent applications.
