看了上面的一堆讨论，我还是没搞明白in that,OG说"is stilted and overly formal",　那我想问Gmat不是一直提倡formal吗，这里却又不认同？那么不知道大家遇见的那么多语法题中有没有用过in that的呢？恳请高人指点啦；）

OG的解释是这样说的: in that is a conjunction that means in as much as; because in that has largely gone out of use, it is considered stilted and overly formal. For, meaning because, is the most appropriate choice for joining the two independent clauses of the compound sentence.

但我觉得奇怪的是，in that为什么会out of use了呢？托福作文里都还经常出现的呀，这种理由不太充分啊。

我觉得overly这个词就可以表明ets现在不喜欢in that这个表达了，是要formal，但不是overly formal
