今天又看了遍这题，开始觉得，如果用compare主动真是不可饶恕的错误的话，那么C还是勉强说的过去的。毕竟CEO's now earn 419 times the pay of blue-collar works, as compared to 42 times their pay, 对仗满工整的，这样就可以勉强消除their的歧义，况且their修饰的是最近的workers，很多代词修饰的歧义都是在代词和要修饰的词之间插了其他词（这个说法不知道大家还能认同？）

另外the ratio in 1980就当是42 times的同位语了，修饰最近的一个吧

根据在CR大全里搜到的as compared to的用法，发现这个词一出马，想比较什么比较什么，都没有歧义的担忧（神奇～），也不用管句子的结构。

例如：Only 6.5 percent of plastic is not being recycled, as compared to 33 percent of container glass.

如果这个是比主语的话，还有

关于compare的主动用法，虽然在longman里有，但我觉得这题的意思并不适用
