楼主 Diesel engine 与 burn 在数量上不一致啊。

as well as 是连词，应该是要求前后对称的。

1.        All-terrain vehicles have allowed vacationers to reach many previously inaccessible areas, but they have also been blamed for causing hundreds of deaths, injury to thousands, and seriously damaging the nation’s recreational areas.

(A) deaths, injury to thousands, and seriously damaging

(B) deaths and injuring thousands, and serious damage to

A是有楼主说的问题，感觉应该是 emit跟原型的burn平行，不管是as well as还是and。

但如果A是正确的，唯一可能的解释就是burn是过去分词，emitting跟burn是非谓语动词平行。但除burn外又找不到谓语动词。

OG中有一道过去分词跟现在分词平行的题，一时想不起题号了。哪位有印象帖一下吧。

我还有一个问题是关于比较，"gasoline engines of comparable size "不需要不出动词么？

应该是A burn 30% less than B do 才对吧

关于比较，OG46 就是一个没补出动词的特例，所以这题也是同样情况。

偶认为此题不是过去分词和现在分词的并列，很明显burn 是谓语动词，所以这个as well as emitting 只能作状语修饰burn . 但为什么要加ae well as 还是不明白, 那位nn 能讲一讲吗？

同意楼主,emitting唯一的解释是现在分词做状语修饰burn, 但是as well as就要两边平行啊,而且从句意上理解也是两边平行: 柴油引擎比同样大小的汽油引擎燃烧少30%的燃料,并且释放少的多的二氧化碳和其他气体....., 用释放来修饰燃烧不合理啊. 答案真是A吗?

答案确实是A，不过刚才在google 查了一下，真有很多这种类似的结构，比如

Chomsky reads all the
leftist stuff, as well as emitting a lot of it, so he's aware that the attack on the Sudanese pharmaceuticals factory
was roundly and extensively condemned by leftists for resulting
in thousands of secondary deaths.

还有很多，看来as well as 可以接一个分词做状语，emitting 和burn 的动作同时进行。
