Can I express my idea that artists and scientists contribute to the
different aspect of the sociaty, both are indispensable to the

I wrote about the topic like the following. Can anyone give me some advice?

In
my opinion, artists and scientists both make huge contribution to the society,
although their contributions are in quite different forms.

The
scientists do various research which helps reveal the mystery of the nature and
give us the insight of the law of the universe. Scientists’ work often leads to
the advanced technology which is constantly shaping the human life. For
example, the research by physicists in the early of 19^th century paved
the way to the finding of nuclear energy, which is a breakthrough in the
science history. As a powerful and environmental-friendly energy source, the
nuclear energy is not finding its way to many aspects of human life, from underwater
to the outer-space application.

The
innovation made by the scientists is the driving force for the modernization of
civilization. Ever since the industrial revolution, the public transportation has
developed fast. From the boat, train, automobile to the airplane, the public
transportation are becoming more and more efficient. In the days when the steam
machine was not born, it took people couple of weeks to cross the Atlantic
Ocean in ship, now the airplane can cross the same distance within a few hours.
The modern transportation tools make the earth more a village as the distance
between people is not longer an obstacle.

A significant
contribution by the scientists recently is the introduction of the internet.
The invention of internet changes life thoroughly. With internet, people who
live in different continent can talk at the cost of local call. There are no
more prohibitively expensive international calls. People can surf the internet
and search for information to their interests. The internet also triggers a media
revolution. More and more people tend to update the news by browsing the
internet instead of buying a newspaper from the stand.  It is good for environment as there is much
less demand for the wood used to make the newspaper.

In
contrast, the work of artists is not to change the life but to decorate people’s
life and help make the world a more beautiful place. The music, painting,
architecture, poems, novels all are the diverse forms of the artwork by the
artists. Life would be so boring without their masterpiece. Take music as
example, when we are angry or in low-spirit, the soothing music can calm us
down and make us feel so much better. The music helps us to ease the pressure
which is mounting in the modern life. After a hardworking day, it feels so good
to relax yourself in a coffee house and indulge into the piano music. And you
can even dance to the music, which makes you feel so high.

Another
example is the book. We learn the experience and life story of others from
reading the novels and poems. And we learn the valuable moral lessons from
reading too. Nowadays the series of novel “Harry Potter” and the movie adapted
to the book are very popular among kids all over the world. The kids love the
book not only because of the wonderful magical world, not also the virtues they
learn from the characters such as courage, teamwork, friendship. The influence
of a great book to the shaping of positive personality on the readers can never
be underestimated.

Looking back on the human history, it is fair to say scientists and the artists
make similar contributions to the society. Without the effort of either of
them, the world would not be as a beautiful and wonderful place as it is today.
