And, I wrote to ask stanford and wharton, stanford suggest retaking the test if the result didn't reflect the true verbal competency, while wharton emphasized that the evaluation is based on a full picture.

多一句嘴。如果你觉得Verbal拖了你后腿，并且你没有发挥真实水平，并且你下次有很大机会考到750以上，just do it。考G是申请中最容易的一环（对top 30而言）。如果考到780，有很大机会拿奖（也看那个学校），2000块钱的考试费就值了。

另一方面，同意C版，710够了。所以还要辨证地看待这个问题。

Depends on your background. 710 is fine. But for Wharton, your verbal's percentile is too low, only 69%, so may be a disadvantage. But everything is possible if you have a very strong background and write good essays.

完全不用担心GMAT,去年很多进wharton的GMAT只有680

申请牛校,背景在申请中比重也很小

一般来说学校排名越靠后,GMAT和工作背景比重就越大

还是好好准备essay和面试吧

说不同意前，有空去Business week forum多看看。这个问题已经很多人讨论过，也有很多人用失败的例子证实过。Wharton参与录取的人都说过如果你能够达到85%，学校会觉得舒服很多，什么是觉得舒服？就是不会concern你的verbal。如果两个人背景差不多，分数差不多，essay也写得差不多，这个verbal的比例，就可能成为考虑的因素。只有680，verbal不一定会很低，而且个例永远都有，你有信心成为个例，哪怕600你也可以去申请啊。

PS：我只是说是一个disadvantage，而且也说了什么都有可能。
