既然LZ这么矛盾,建议去BW上征询下一位CAREER PLANNING CONSULTANT的意见,她好象之前是在SLOAN的CAREER CENTRE做,应该比我们更了解美国MBA,PHD毕业后的就业情况.

First let me say that I am not an admissions consultant, do not have experience in MBA admissions, or any particular insight into what goes on in the head of Adcom members.

However, I do have two years of experience in the Career Development Office at MITSloan, working with MBA students on resumes, cover letters, career planning and career transitioning. My background is in psychology and journalism, and I am currently considering taking on a few clients who would like help positioning themselves for new careers. (NOTE: I do not currently work at MITSloan)

俺来冒个泡，其实作为同在美国的人，我理解你的苦衷。其实，你完全可以念完PhD后工作，然后在工作中去念Part-Time MBA,
当然地方要合适，另外，有的大公司可以提供 education reimbursement, 可以给你节省不少成本。你可以绿卡，工作，MBA
都不误。俺的命比较苦，毕业时IT 泡沫破了，又有9/11，结果为了糊口，去的地方不好，就没办法边工作边念MBA(保住饭碗要紧),只好等绿卡到手后才开始准备GMAT(到现在还没考),
结果年纪都过30了，郁闷呀，唯一的成就就是把学费给挣出来了，上完MBA我又是一穷人了... 所以俺如果上MBA一定是最快速度念完，岁月不饶人呀。。。

家家有本难念的经。重要的是坚持下去，有的时候人生真的充满戏剧性。回头看看我的大学同学的路，真的很耐人寻味。一个在国内呆了两年混得很不好的同学，申请到了一个一般学校的数学类专业，结果硕士毕业，去了华尔街一家最著名的投行。。。另一个同学，毕业时被称为面霸，但选择了另一条路，结果现在不上不下，。。

兄弟，很多事情无法在行动之前想出定论。

如果你“向往更exciting 的生活”，那就尝试申请MBA，关键是说服Ad Com你适合做经理人而不适合做学者。如果在这个问题上，你自己都觉得没有把握说服自己，那就在读PhD的同时尝试在公司里做一些兼职的工作，看看自己是否更适合。回答这个问题，是解决你心病的核心。

总之，你要迅速行动，去尝试，而不是把所有问题都想好了再动。
