Many people don't fit this way. However, business schools are still looking for leaders and entrepreneurs. Many people said LZ is successful. I disagree. It seems that LZ still does not have a goal of her life and lacks of self-assessment. From LZ's experience, I found out that LZ lacks of courage and a great decision-making ability, both of which are vital for leaders. Wharton's adcom probably noticed that from your essays too. mba is not going to change many cruel facts, especially the facts in U.S. Living in U.S. is definitely not a beautiful dream but a reality. Agree! That is what we say 性格决定命运. Psychologically, LZ gave priority to security rather than progression in the several critical desisions she made. And her real motivation for pursuing an MBA is for compensating the lack of confidence in her relationship with someone she think will truely love her only if she becomes as outstanding as him. I'm not saying that this is no good for a qualified MBA candidate, but I just doubt if LZ will get what she really want even after she succeeded in getting into one of the dream B-schools..... What I got from this story is that, before deciding going for MBA, I'd better do think over whether I am the type of person who's gonna get the best out of such investment, what I really want from life, and then will an MBA be the best way to get there. |
