The 1st question is that Did you quit Ivey thus far ? If you quitted already, what is ur plan?
No unfortunately, I didnot quit...mainly because of my family. if I go to the states, then my family has to relocate too, and that is a lot of trouble, especially for my kids, in addition, my wife has to quit her job too.
the other reason is financial concern. my situation is kind of cross fingered. i cannot be qualified for loans, because i have some savings. but if i go to the states, then i have to sell my house and use up almost all my savings. while it is ok with me, but to my family, it is too risky.
The 2nd question is that Can u apply for other top b-schools in states ,saying that you just left Ivey for its poor education ? what's the chance for u to get admitted?
if i quit ivey, i am pretty sure that i can get in a top 15-20 us schools without a lot of problem. actually univery of califonia just sent me the offer of full scholarship (35k first year, then second year, offer me assistant job opportunity to cover tuition). there were a couple other schools too, sending me offers of scholarship in the past. but i have finished the 1 semester in ivey, and with the economy still on the up curve, i feel confident to find a job in canada, although i am not sure what kind of job it will be.
The 3rd question is that Does Ivey's China-returning students can get 30k-40K salary's job? I doubted it really. The story what I heard is that much less than ur figure was. Ivey's graduates are not sell good in China's market.
the data in my message is from the school's career management, to tell you the truth, i doubted about it too. but i think that the school must have support for their data, and they will not intentionly provide fake data. so i think that is the average number for chinese students who choose to go back. or they probably average the salary from students going back to china and students who got jobs in canada...i cannot tell.
btw, I also want to put Ivey as my back-up school.Sigh... want to know ur advice.
only if you immigrate to canada, and use ivey study to kill immigration time requirements. (you have to stay in canada at least 3 years in the first 5 years?) otherwise, why use ivey as backup? if you had your reasons, then it is ok...
hope this would help.... |
