The feeling is rough to go against the majority opinion...but I would vote for C.  Probably because I was taking a different approach, D was among the first ones that I eliminated for the say of "making it smaller"...  I don't know...The rob of oyster's falvor of saline makes them smaller just sounds a little strange.  On top of that, probably the altered saline content and the robbery of the oysters flavor are two causes for the oysters to shrink so they should be connected with "and".
