这题，一众大牛得出结论A必对无疑，但我心中就是无法接受他们的理由。

且不说with different colors that mark的不适用（在XDF语法中多次强调，that do从句是用于一次性，确定的动作）

此外我判断D对的最大依据正是BE ABLE TO SEE的使用！！

请大家好好想想，从逻辑的角度分析，有可能所有取过大峡谷的人都seen layers of sediment in the gaping canyon 了吗？我看不一定吧。但是他们要想看到的话，确实是可以看到的，这点勿庸置疑。

因此这里只能强调去过GREAT CANYON的人可以，有能力看到sediment，但不能说去了的人就一定看到了sediment.

最后，有NN引用Kaplan的解释，我想说是：现在火星的人都知道Kaplan 的思路和ETS大相径庭，Kaplan 上面好多题完全不能用ETS思维来理解，可见Kaplan的所谓专家对ETS题目挖掘还不如你我。总之，老K说的东西不能尽信！

不是牛人，但觉得应该是A。

D错就错在用了have been able to see, 这里不是因为个人视力的能力而看得到或看不到，在文中的情况下，应当直接用have seen. We say "I have seen the movie", but not say "I have been able to see the movie"

并不是说have been able to do sth.这个形式本身错，关键要看后面所跟的动词，这个动词的含义。大全中的此题确实讲的是small mills的能力问题，因此可用have been able to，也正能够从反面证明我为何认为不能用have been able to see here，因为此题不是讲是否有see这个能力的问题。

查了牛津高阶，be able to do－－have the power, means or opportunity to do something.

我看大家普遍都固化地认为be able to do和can 都只能表示“有能力做某事”，实际上这两组词的意思远比指代能力要宽的多。

字典里有一个例子。Will you be able to come tomorrow?

我想翻译成明天有机会来吗？比明天有能力来吗？要好的多吧。

所以我想强调的是：并非每个去GC的人就看到了sediment(我光顾着看别的，没留意什么sediment不行吗，sediment又不是自由神像那么惹眼。）但是说每个去GC的人都有机会看到sediment就完全没问题，因为sediment 就在那里不会跑掉。

一般英语Can和Be able to 没有大的区别，字典的解释也多基于日常英语，但Gmat对词的意思限定的更加狭窄，这也就是在GMAT中更加优先使用Can的原因，Can能解释的范围更广，而be able to则要狭窄的多，更强调能力。GMAT中Can be done是正确的表达，而be able to be done是错误的，就因为你有能力被做sth.逻辑上是错误的。
