请教申请ROSS的前辈:如何知道自己的申请结果?是等学校通知?还是去看什么公告板?

ring_cheng,

the admission office will notify you by an email titled "Congratulations!" several days within the decision date. the official letter of admission and an information binder will be sent at the same time. some students may receive congrats calls.

relax yourself and look forward to it. good luck!

没听说有人是因为这个原因进来的,除非你是读part-time MBA,然后公司sponser你在美国工作。学校对于part-time MBA的录取条件是比较宽松的,申请要容易很多。

Hi Do you know any Chinese student enrolling in the part-time program?  I know Ann Arbor is such a small city.  So job opportunities are limited.  Where are the part-time students working?  Detroit?  I heard that is an hour away.  I am thinking about applying for the PT program.  I have excellent expereience plus awesome GPA(3.86) from a U.S college. My GMAT is low: 650.  What is my chance to get into the PT program?  Thanks

By the way, how is weather there?  I am thinking either Michigan PT or Emory PT. I am littled discouraged by the weather in Ann Arbor.  Is it like Chicago's weather - too cold and too long in winter?  I am from Boston.  Boston has such a long winter.

There are many companies around Ann Arbor, not only in Detroit, but most of them are auto-related.  While if you want to work and study at the same time, then commute is what you have to tolerate. I can't tell what your chance is to be admitted, coz i really have no idea what are the standards for admitting part-time applicants. But I believe it's much easier to get in than full-time program.

And there are many Chinese in part-time program.  The weather in AA is better than that in Chicago, while still cold. Since you are from Boston, I am sure you can handle the weather in AA.

我正在准备申请ross的第二轮,deadline是1月7日。别人告诉我,好像在1月7日之前应该先预约面试,也就是说interview时间必须早于1月7日,请问是这样吗?我应该如何去约呢?谢谢帮助。

You must finish interview before the deadline. You can find the related information on B-school website and I believe ring_cheng once posted the alum list once.

Check the list of alumni interviewers:

http://www.bus.umich.edu/Admissions/MBA/ApplicantInterviews/AlumniInterviews.htm

Find the alumni in your location, shoot some of them emails telling them your application round and asking for an interview. They will email back with their available interview slots if they have. You can choose the most appropriate one (schedule, location, interviewer's background, etc.), confirm with that interviewer and politely decline other interviewers.

I checked the admission website and noticed that for the second round (application deadline Jan 7), the interview could be completed before Jan 14. However, according to my experience, you have to fill out your interviewer's information in you application(not sure for this year, you can check the online application forms). That is to say, your interview must be confirmed before Jan 7.

In view of the usual large number of applicants for the second round, better contact alumni interviewers as early as possible.

Cheers!
