You are very correct in this question, which means that your education system has instilled in you dialectical thinking, which is a very good mode of thinking. But in China, as you question, meritocracy basically carries through the learning life of a Chinese child, including the whole of East Asia (Japan and Korea are not immune to this meritocracy trap). I hope that I can see a more egalitarian social evaluation through this question, because I have always felt that meritocracy is not a good education model, and I hope to see real education, an education system that breaks people's prejudices can make students think better.
