Thirty-nine managers were divided into three divisions, each of which included thirteen managers. The managers were asked to report the number of hours they spent providing feedback to their employees last month. Then, each manager was assigned a quality score based on the scores of employees who received feedback.
To determine a manager’s quality score, the manager was asked to rate individual employees who received feedback using a 10-point scale. The individual scores for that manager’s employees were then added, and the sum was divided by 15. Finally, the quotient was rounded to the nearest whole number.
