1. B
A没有谓语吧,helped感觉就对了好像;Cwhich;DE主语应该是the publication
2.  C
8.  A
10. D
A那个时候UK应该在Europe,Cbecause of后面东西不对,Bas不对

EDBEB ABAED
1.
A:selling 的动作是谁发起的?? the publication sells??并且helping to establish 是修饰前面的clause,也就是the publication was an instant hit 这件事帮助确立 Barack 作为候选人,动作发起者也是publication???
C: helping
It sold 200,000 copies and helped establish its author as a viable candidate.
2.
A: more caused by the fact than failure 没有平行/ 并且这句话的意思就是说 他们需要宣布破产,这个破产更多的是因为运营费用的高成本造成比compete for consumer demand.
C:错误, 没有平行 because... than that....
3.
A: many employees wonder whether they put too significant burdren?? they
B和D:although 和while 的区别
Although=despite the fact that
4.
A、B、C:秒排
D:with tails 修饰前面的动作,就是vistors have often looked up. 不好
E:选E:首先have seen 和have trailed 两个时态的一致性,然后whose tails是修饰macaws 的。
5.
A there has been a significant occurrence of increase
B there has been a significant increase in the occurence, 感觉文章的重点应该是说有显著的提高在occurence 方面/ 并且 resistance against 没问题
C:同理A
D:resistance of gungi 错误
E:同A/并且resistance against 好一点
选择B
6.
B:which 没有that 那么强调作用,并且前面要加comma,类似 the best evidence, which we have, is......
7.
A: that 这件事 cannnot be put forth that 感觉有点怪,that 修饰什么??
B:That就是指那件事(中间部分没问题)cannot be put forth to be their fault , 就是那件事并不能说是他们的错,to这里也用的挺好,不确定的状态。 后面 as such oppurtunities are often predicated on the availability, the ecouragement, and the prevalence。 很好
C: 不对it 指的是谁,又it
D:young people are at fault???
The African-American vote have such a profound impact in no other election as in Barack Obama’s breakthrough election of 2008.
10.
A.应该是any other countries, 自己与其他国家去比较
B.The united Kingdom作为busiest airports 不符合逻辑
D.对的,with 。。。。

1.(171)Social scientists in the United States have found that (people’s view of nuclear energy) changed dramatically following the Three Mile Island meltdown in 1979, shifting from optimism and a sense of energy independence to one characterized by fear and distrust.
A
A) shifting from optimism and a sense of energy independence to one characterized by fear and distrust.
B) shifting from being characterized by optimism and a sense of energy independence to being clouded by fear and distrust.
C) shifting from one characterized by optimism and a sense of energy independence to fear and distrust.
D) from one characterized by optimism and a sense of energy independence to one clouded by fear and distrust.
E) from it being characterized by optimism and a sense of energy independence to it being clouded by fear and distrust.

2.(172)The destruction of the rain forests means exterminating plants that had the potential to cure people of life-threatening illnesses.
C
A. exterminating plants that had the potential to cure people of
B. exterminating plants that have the potential to have cured people of
C. the extermination of plants that have the potential to cure people of
D. the extermination of plants that had the potential to cure people from
E. the extermination of plants that might have had the potential to cure people of

3.(173)SARS coronavirus – the virus that causes Sudden Acute Respiratory Syndrome – does not seem to transmit easily from person to person, though in China it has infected the family members and health care personnel taking care of them.
C
A) it has infected the family members and health care personnel taking care of them
B) it has infected the family members and health care personnel who had taken care of them
C) the virus has infected the family members and health care personnel who have taken care of them
D) the virus had infected the family members and health care personnel who took care of victims
E) it has infected the family members and health care personnel taking care of victims

4.(174)How a hearing problem is treated depends on if it stems from a malfunctioning of the inner ear or of the auditory nerve, also known as the cochlear nerve.
B
A. How a hearing problem is treated depends on if it stems from a malfunctioning of the inner ear or of the auditory nerve, also known as the cochlear nerve.

B. How a hearing problem is treated depends on whether the problem stems from a malfunctioning of the inner ear or of the auditory nerve, also known as the
cochlear nerve.

C. How a hearing problem is treated depends on whether it will stem from a malfunctioning of the inner ear or of the auditory nerve, also known as the cochlear nerve.

D. If it stems from a malfunctioning of the inner ear or of the auditory nerve, also known as the cochlear nerve, determines how a hearing problem is treated.

E. Whether it stems from a malfunctioning of the inner ear and of the auditory nerve, also known as the cochlear nerve, determines how a hearing problem is treated.
这里用whether,排除AD;it的话感觉既可以指代句子也可以指代the hearing problem,还是直接写problem比较好

5.(175)The directions on the packaging recommend that patients, unless otherwise instructed by a doctor, should take the pills with food and water at bedtime.
A
A. should take the pills with food and water
B. should take the pills with food and water, and
C. should be taking the pills with food and water
D. taking the pills with food and water, and
E. take the pills with food and water
recommend that sb should do sth,B的话应该是把take pill 和at bedtime作平行了,好像不是很对

6.(176)The Coriolis effect, the apparent result of a force that is actually nonexistent, a phenomenon that seems to deflect moving objects relative to the rotation of the Earth’s surface.
D
A. a phenomenon that seems to deflect moving objects relative to the rotation
B. a phenomenon where moving objects are deflecting relative to the rotation
C. a phenomenon that seems to deflect moving objects and is relative to the rotation
D. is a phenomenon that seems to deflect moving objects relative to the rotation
E. is a phenomenon where moving objects are deflected relative to the rotation

7.(177)Although the school board members agree there are substantial inefficiencies in the school budget and that the principal and other administrators should be paid less, it is difficult to garner enough interest and support in the community to implement the necessary changes.
B
A. Although the school board members agree
B. However much the school board members may agree that
C. Despite the school board members’ agreement about the fact that
D. Even though the school board members may agree
E. There is agreement among the school board members that

8.(178)For all its financial troubles, never has the Wall Street Journal been read by more people: 32 million unique viewers online in the United States alone every month.
A
A. For all its financial troubles, never has the Wall Street Journal been read by more people: 32 million unique viewers online in the United States alone every month.

B. Considering all their financial troubles, the Wall Street Journal has never been read by more people, with 32 million unique viewers alone in the United States every month.

C. With all its financial troubles, the Wall Street Journal has never been read by more people: 32 million unique viewers online in the United States alone every month.

D. Given all their financial troubles, never has the Wall Street Journal been read by more people, nearly 32 million unique viewers online in the United States alone every month.

E. Even considering their financial troubles, the Wall Street Journal has never been read by more people: 32 million unique viewers online in the United States alone every month.
其实我不太清楚这个financial troubles是谁的,感觉应该是its而不是their,加上for比with合适,所以选了A

9.(179)Yo-yo Ma, whom according to the classical cellists of the world is perhaps the world’s best, plays in a versatile style which is ever-changing but which also employs aspects of genres as varied as Baroque, American bluegrass, and modern minimalism.
A
A)whom according to the classical cellists of the world is perhaps the world’s best, plays in a versatile style which is ever-changing but which also employs

B)considered perhaps the world’s best by the classical cellists of the world, plays in a versatile style, which at the same time employs

C)regarded by the world’s best classical cellists as the best cellist of the classical world, plays in an ever-changing style, yet employs

D)looked on by the classical cellists of the world as perhaps the world’s best, who plays in an ever-changing style all his own, which also employs

E)whom the world of classical cellists looks on as the best, plays in a versatile, ever-changing style while at the same time employing

10.(180)The path of hurricanes can be carefully simulated, but computational errors, random shifts in the flow of the jet stream, and the incomplete mathematical models used by meteorologists can all combine to introduce more uncertainty than estimated.
(A) random shifts in the flow of the jet stream, and the incomplete mathematical models used by meteorologists can all combine to introduce more uncertainty than

(B) random shifts in the flow of the jet stream, and the incomplete mathematical models used by meteorologists can all combine to introduce more uncertainty than they had 时态

(C) random shifts in the flow of the jet stream, and the incomplete mathematical models used by meteorologists can all combine to introduce more uncertainty than they have

(D) random shifts in the flow of the jet stream, and the incomplete mathematical models used by meteorologists are the combined cause of the introduction of more uncertainty than

(E) random shifts in the flow of the jet stream, and the incomplete mathematical models used by meteorologists can combine to cause the introduction of more uncertainty than
