I also read this exciting article in FT today. Congratulations!!! To be honest, the class size of HKUST MBA is small, which somehow negatively influence network of alumni.  I personally think in HKUST MBA program should enhance interaction with EMBA program.

Yes, the full-time class is so small. (HKUST has some part-time classes in HK and SZ)

Now the MBA office is tring to enhance the interaction between MBA and EMBA. You can see the following letter I received one week ago.

Dear class,

A group of 8-10 EMBA students is inviting your joining of a morning
session golf playing on 11 Nov (Fri) in Kau Sai Chau Public Golf Course,
Sai Kung. The Golf Course has a handicap requirement of less than 36 for
both male and female. Pls refer to the activity details below:-

Date: 11 Nov (Fri)
Time: 8:15am - 12:30pm Golf Playing
12:30pm Lunch with EMBA group
Registration: Max. 10 students from MBA program

Depending on the no. of students joining this event, there's a 14-seat bus
arranged by an EMBA student waiting outside Tower C, HKUST at 6:45am. We
can also facilitate the transportation arrangement.

R.S.V.P is reuqired. Students please reply this email to confirm your
registration on or before 31 Oct (Mon).

I think that all of my mainland classmates are smart guys with great potentials. Here I can only share you with my background. You can ask other guys by messages.

I was graduated from Zhejiang University with Master Degree in Wireless Communication and have 5.5 years' experience on telecommunication and consumer electronics industries. My focus in UST is finance. I am especially interested in Venture Capital, Strategic Planning, and Entrepreneurship.

xiaolu,one question, whether you have some finance work experience before you entered in HKUST? if not, how do you convince adcom that you can fit in  finance field?

我申请的时候没有定方向，只是想学更多的business的知识。

入校后和Career Office的老师谈了几次，根据我的职业方向（我会仍然在technology领域）和现在的知识体系，都建议我选Finance为Concentration。

我知道大家对在校学生的背景和职业选择很好奇。但如果把整篇文章都变成探讨单个人的背景和职业选择感觉不妥，建议私下联系。

thanks for your reply. but I just feel a bit strange. why suggest you concentrate on finance with your tech backgrounds?
