Job Responsibilities

1. Desktop analysis of the ivory market in mainland China:

-  Qualitative literature review of largely non-academic sources on ivory trade within China

2. Field research on ivory markets in China:

-  On-the-ground investigation of ivory markets

-  Survey of ivory buyers and sellers

-  Prepare a report on the typical demographics and characteristics of ivory consumers

Job Requirement

1. Masters (student or graduate);

2. Chinese fluency, and English proficiency (written and spoken);

3. The following ability required:

-  Identify important resources and distill key insights into summaries

-  Competently runqualitative surveys on members of the public

-  Interview relevant stakeholders in the field

4. Other requirements:

-  Confidence and politeness in approaching members of the public

-  Strong initiative and motivation for seeking out information relevant to the ivory trade

-  Hard-working and punctual

-  Good communicator (written and spoken)

Working hours

30-100hours/month to start (negotiable).

Employment Period

Minimum 3 months, up to 2 years.
