Long sentences are sometimes necessary. However, there is a chance you may end up with run-on sentences. Make sure you don't use commas to join two independent clause--a frequent mistake made by Chinese students, as Chinese sentence elements are joined by commas. I have come across a lot less of that and other mistakes in the essays presented here. I guess that's because you guys must have had a strong background in business writing.
