答案是B，可以理解their range extending 是独立主格，完全正确。但是D里Hummingbirds, found only in the Western Hemisphereand surviving through extremes of climate 就不能作为独立主格出现吗？

D里面没有独立主格的形式存在啊
with没有，名词性独立主格也没有，each也没有。

如果你的意思是Hummingbirds, found only in the Western Hemisphereand surviving through extremes of climate整个部分是独立主格
那肯定不行啊
第一，独立主格要连在一起，这个已经被隔开了
第二，即使逗号后面是做状语修饰Hummingbirds，那么这句话就有双主语，也不对了啊
Hummingbirds found only in the Western Hemisphere and surviving through extremes of climate
仅仅就这样脱离全句来看，去掉逗号，这样是可行的，没有错。

但要成为一个完整句子，还得需要谓语。或者它修饰的有意义的主句

您第一点说，独立主格要连在一起中间不隔开，那如果D选项在H和found中间没有逗号，就本题来讲，算是正确的独立主格吗？

形式上可以这么说。
但依然不是，独立主格得和主句联系在一起来看。
前后两句没有逻辑关系，所以独立主格不成立。

B选项，因为它们不惧极端天气，所以生存环境从XX到XX。
D，它们生活在西半球，与生存环境没逻辑关联。

其实我很真诚地建议，就像RON说过很多次的：不要去想怎么是对的。
很浪费时间，也没必要。
目的是看哪些是错的
你不是GMAC的出题人，你不知道什么是绝对的对，但是你一定知道绝对的错
