MIT Sloan seeks students whose personal characteristics demonstrate that they will make the most of the incredible opportunities at MIT, both academic and non-academic. We are on a quest to find those whose presence will enhance the experience of other students. We seek thoughtful leaders with exceptional intellectual abilities and the drive and determination to put their stamp on the world. We want people who can redefine solutions to conventional problems, and strive to preempt unconventional dilemmas with cutting-edge ideas. We demand integrity and respect passion.

Taking the above into consideration, please submit a cover letter seeking a place in the MIT Sloan MBA Program. Your letter should conform to a standard business correspondence, include one or more examples that illustrate why you meet the desired criteria above, and be addressed to the Assistant Deans of Admissions, Rod Garcia and Dawna Levenson (300 words or fewer, excluding address and salutation).

Review cover letter是我现在作为career counselor的日常。这是一个高度浓缩的文件，是你在对自己的背景亮点优势非常清楚的情况下才能写出来的，所以也不太适合作为第一篇文章来动笔。

无论申请或求职用，cover letter的主旨都是证明自己和对方的fit。这里稍微不同的是，

作为MIT Sloan这种级别的学校，它已经非常清楚你强烈的向往之心，所以再重复why us完全没有必要。这篇就应该集中写你的亮点，以及这些对Sloan community有什么价值，你以后能给学校带去什么贡献。你要确保这些亮点是别人care的东西，比如你写我很有幽默感，这就没什么太大的关系。

举个例子，我自己在求职的时候，我要深刻理解career counseling的要求，其中一点是navigate ambiguity，我要同时能辅导60多个不同专业的学生，并且我还是转行，所以我就需要bridge the gap，告诉他们我就是这样过来的：我之前在CD工作的时候，要给别人讲课，自己没有MBA，有很多东西需要摸索；到了美国就马上开始实习做academic advising，要给同学解释一些政策，但当时我对美国教育体系还没那么清楚。我过去的经历里有很多不确定性，每天都有新难题要解决，而我能够survive在这样的环境之下，就是一个能胜任新工作的evidence。
