关于OG的一道老题的疑惑

这道题，大家的老朋友了：

我知道公认的破题点实在”reserch“的搭配上，但我想问这题while的用法。因为while在GMAT中就两种：要么contrast，要么simultaneous。区别在于while后面跟的是不是完整的句子。拿这的while做比较也讲不通啊。第一次懂的少，直接用”当“来翻译了，可现在越看越不太懂？还是说五个选项这里是完整句子。所以这点不考虑了？

一起从头开始

while在这道题表示“当...”. while引导的时间状语从句, 其主语如果和主句相同, 就能省略, be动词也能一起省.
A. OG说'books that Baldwin wrote in France while he was living there' includes redundant information. 为什么呢?因为从句的主语和主句主语相同, 所以句子可以简化成‘ books that Baldwin wrote in France while living there. '

C. OG说Given this sentence structure, 'while in France' seems to say, illogically, that the books were written while they were in France. 为什么呢? 接下来是我的理解: written是 past participle,  可以还原成Baldwin's books which were written while in France. which指代books. 因此可以把adverbial modifier 看作 books were written while in France. while表示“当...”, 而且后面有省略,说明in France的主语是books, 进一步还原books were written while they were in France.  不合逻辑.
