好的，说的有道理，不过说回来，从就业市场来看，PhD期间能和老师一起做研究甚至发文章，这还是以北美学校为主导，特别是名校。

（刚刚打开，发现又多了好几条回复与互动，至此不好一一回复，还请见谅）
lz已经接了科大的Offer，虽然还有几个美校没来，也不再等了。问及原因，全为lz个人选择，无需苛责。
另外，当然还是有些可以分享。

关于NHH，虽然投票没人愿意施舍一票，虽然是一个排名一般的项目。但是不能掩盖他在欧洲的声誉。最近的placement是HEC和Amsterdam。而且毕业考过英语可以移民。
虽然buffalo的经济项目很很很一般，但是Finance faculty有大佬，而且很友善，是一个相对小而精的项目。因为不是名校，placement不能奢求太甚。
关于syracuse，ASU上的排名100左右，但是其实文章六成以上出自经济系，所以不太建议申请。

最后虽然楼主英语不好，但是因为喜欢模仿电影原声，所以口音还行，可以说口语救了我一命，拿了面试的都给了Offer。

I have to say that your comment on SUNY-Buffalo placements is not quite on spot. As emphasised in my earlier posts, its placements have been remarkable over the years. It may not make much sense to compare SUNY-Buffalo and HKUST placements per se (they are apart in different continents), but this does not mean that the former does not perform well or is inferior to the latter. As for the overall reputation of these two, SUNY-Buffalo is well-known, esp. in the East; HKUST is indeed a top school, but it is generally known or perceived as such in HK, and in Asia more broadly.

Therefore, I would suggest that we make fair and unbiased comments here. I have always insisted on doing so.

虽然北美和hkust都能做cutting edge research
但lz的选择并不是整个北美 vs hkust这个pool啊
北美的2个选择明显不如hkust能实现cutting edge research这一点
不过投票我还是投北美
人生总有up and down 虽然竭尽全力 但谁也不能保证4年后5年纪初自己上市场的package会是什么
北美如果做的不是特别好还有地方接着 hkust 的downside不知道只有回国了吧
