我们同大家分享学校的学习生活,详见IMD MBA Blog (https://blogs.imd.org/)。现同大家分享一篇2018届学生Hassan写的一项经典IMD MBA学生活动 —— Evening of Life Before Microsoft

https://blogs.imd.org/2018/01/30/life-before-microsoft-2/#more-4852

What are three historic events that shaped humanity? That was the first question asked by our Economics professor, Ralf Boscheck, as we held our first session of a module designed to investigate historical events that shaped modern economic systems and understand some of the cultural and geographical intricacies that influenced the way we do business in modern times. The class discussions spanned events from how the Pharaohs shaped the Egyptian civilization to the invention of the steam engine and the dot.com era, and everything in between.

As we concluded the classroom modules designed to make us reflect as a team on notions such as John Locke’s idea of democracy and Adam Smith’s concept of decentralized markets, we prepared for an evening of cultural reflection where our cohort would be split up into different teams representing their cultural background and presenting some of their most compelling contributions to humanity. We had 90 people from 43 nationalities represented by 9 cultural groups, and we took turns sharing historical events that shaped each of our region’s economic and political states. Besides the eye-opening experience of learning about each other’s history, we dressed up and danced to Indian tunes, while jamming to Brazilian samba music. It was a fitting conclusion to an educational module designed to kick off the cohort’s MBA journey, one that will bring us closer through understanding each other’s unique cultural differences and allow us to perform not in spite of them, but because of them.

Below is a selection of images from a hugely successful evening of cultural celebration
