University of Tennessee PhD 项目现已升级为 TIER 3，毕业出路很不错，论坛讨论的很少，可能因为中国学生很少。

Professionally, you are overworked from teaching up to six classes per year.

Academically, you might not be able to publish in top journals due to lack of time, resources, connections, and so on.

Pecuniarily, you may make half as much as research school professors do.

关于数理背景想再说几句。如果你数理背景不是很强，或不喜欢数理，那么选校基本上只有这几个方向, 即 Organization and Management 和 Marketing 的 CB 和 Strategy，这些专业我不懂，但数理要求较低，一般只用到 Linear regression, ANOVA, Factor analysis, experiments 而已。但这些专业进 Research School 非常困难，一般必须是 Top School 才有可能。
