The reading passage explores an issue that three methods to save frog population from declining. The professor talks about the same issue, however, she believes that three methods mentioned in the reading passage are not practical at all, and he uses three specific points to support his idea.
First, even though the reading passage states that through laws to prohibit famers use pesticides will reduce the harm caused by pesticides significantly, the professor argues that this method is not commercially available, since farmers who live close to frogs habitats cannot stay competitive price in the market anymore, which means they will lose crops and have lower yield.
Second, the reading states that treatments can help frogs protect themselves from deadly fungus. The professor hold the different view that those treatments are not practical. Because those treatments should do individually to frog, but there are large number of frogs need treatments. Meanwhile, this treatment have no effect on offspring, which means human have to give treatment again and again to each frog generation. It is obviously a complicate and expansive method to slow down the frog declining.
Third,the reading passage states that improve protection of water habitats can save frogs, while the professor argues that global warming is the biggest threat that has bad effect on frog habitations and causing entire species to go extinct. so, the entire habitats are unlikely to be save just through improvement of wetlands.
