  求大神们解答。这题答案是D，虽然我也觉得D比其它的好，但是后来看到一个地方我就把它排除了。D中，the kind of fierce intercolony struggles that limit...为何是limit不是limits呢？是the kind of而不是the kinds of呀，所以不应该是单数么？

这是很老的一道争议题了。但从语义上讲，that limit是用来修饰struggles的。因为只有不参加struggles才能限制物种的扩张，修饰kind的话讲不通。
