正确答案是C

想问两个点，

一、语法笔记里之前说过 物主代词在前面的时候不是不能代指的吗？？？

His mother talked with Joe's father.

意思是 someone else's mother talked with Joe's father.

为什么这里its就可以代指discus了？？

二、A 里面的it 为什么不能代指weight of the discus？？？

句子意思：原先的设计是将重心放在金属中心处, 而现在是将其放在边缘

将其中心放在边缘处不对吗？？

1，同学 你的理解是对的啊，如果这个discus是discus’s 那就错了啊，但没有’的情况下就没问题的。
2，这里的it可以说明是指带weight of the discus，但也可以指代discus，或者track competition，或者metal center，这样子就会造成语义错误，所以GMAC认为这种情况是不允许发生的，你可能是刚刚接触GMAT不久，这种SC是很普遍的考点。

谢谢啦 我第二个点搞明白了 不过我觉得并不是 你说的代指的问题 it这里是主从代指 代指weight of the discus是没问题的。
应该是 be lined with lead around the perimeter是在 在周围内嵌里注入铅 这个注入铅显然不能是给重心注入 逻辑上应该是discus 注入 而it不能代指介词的宾语 因此不能代指discus。
不过第一个点我还是没明白 你看下我从笔记里摘抄的例子 难道是当His mother talked with Joe的时候 就是his就可以代指joe???

嗯嗯，其实第二点你这么理解也是可以的。而且指代不清这个考点对于GMAT来说也是弱考点，有一些官方出来的题的正确答案也是会出现指代不清的问题的。
对于第一点，你的意思是说its出现在了discus前面是不正确的？你举的例子里面，错误的地方是his不管是指代JEO还是Jeo's father 都是语义不同的，所以会错误。但是原题中的its指代discus就没有问题，同时its也不能指代track competition，因为代词不能指代介词短语中的名词。
也不知道我说没说明白，就是感觉你举的例子和原题是不相符的。
