关于ing修饰名词的用法

OG 12-11，题目的正确句子为：There are several ways to build solid walls using just mud or clay, but the most extensively used method has been to form the mud or clay into bricks, and, after some preliminary air drying or sun drying, to lay them in the wall in mud mortar.
不理解的点：但是按照prep的补充解释，using应该修饰句子的主语也就是ways而不是就近做定语修饰 walls
但是有另外一个例子：

Coronary angiography, a sophisticated method for diagnosing coronary diesase involving the introduction of a dye into the arteries of the heart, is now administered selectively, because it uses x-rays to obeserve cardiac function.
正确选项：for diagnosing coronary disease, involves the introduction of dye into the arteries of the heart and is now administered selectiely, because it uses
对于正确选项，我没有疑问。但是对于原句，按照我的理解，错误点在于用了involving the introduction of a dye into the arteries of the heart造成修饰disease的混乱，但是OG 12-11里面v－ing是可以修饰分句句子的主语，此处即method；为什么这句话里，不能呢？

我觉得应该是修饰歧义的问题，但事实上我对C选项有点怀疑。

because表达了因果关系，说明Coronary angiography involves the introduction of dye and is now administered selectively, because it uses X-rays，逻辑有点不同啊~

Coronary angiography involves the introduction是个客观事实吧，不是it uses X-rays 产生的果。仅个人观点！

我觉得两句最大的不和是逻辑意思，第一句如果是修饰wall的话逻辑根本说不通 但是第二句，involving修饰disease觉得也可以说通，所以会产生歧义
