疑问： Beneath 。。。 lie 。。。 是倒装结构，为什么要加there lie？

32. Fats and fixed oils are greasy or waxy substance that ill their pure state are normally tasteless, colorless, and odorless.'

疑问： 好像这道题有2个错误（1） are 后面要跟复数，所以(B)substance要改为substances

(2) 答案中未划线部分ill thier pure state are 。。。 为什么用are不用is？

32.(1)are后面不一定跟复数,它前面的主语为复数

(2)此题把substance->substances并不是因为前面有ARE   而是它后面的ARE pure state are normally tasteless,

第一题如果去掉there结构就不完整，具体我也说不清 我语法比较含糊大多靠感觉

第二题的第一个are就决定了后面必须是复数

第一题是倒装，不过不是由beneath构成，而是there lies构成倒装，beneath部分是做状语的。试着把句子调整下看：there lies sth beneath...为使句子结构更好理解，可以把lies换成is，考试中较常见。
