比较对象你都搞错了==
If current trends continue, by the year 2010 carbon emissions in the United States will soar to a level more than one-third higher than were those in 1990,according to official projections.
修饰比较的形容词是more than one-third higher，这个higher是修饰carbon emissions in the United States的还是修饰 a level 的？明显是宾补修饰宾语啊！所以比较的对象应该是2010的level和1990年的level比啊！自然用that了。
退一步想：emissions的比较能用higher吗？排放只能是多少，能是高低吗？
再退一步想：对于主谓宾齐全的句子比较主语的话，than后面可以只用指代that\those不用do或者情态动词吗？如果不用动词，如何区分比较的是主语还是宾语？I eat more apples than you do我吃苹果比你吃的多。I eat more apples than you我吃的苹果比你多（汉尼拔啊！）

我们假设比较的对象是2010年的 carbon emissions和carbon emissions in 1990，那么正确选项应该是什么样的？句子应该是什么样的？
If current trends continue, by the year 2010 carbon emissions in the United States will be more than one-third fewer than those in 1990,according to official projections.
