short comments:
2. I don't see a clear career goal.
(we all know people choose this sector for $$, but no one will speak it out explicitly... 是的, but the world is like that.)
4. Somehow there are different stages of career. in a junior role, what is the most important is technical skills, as they are expected to be really doing something and support other senior members.
and after a few year of experience, one has more insight about the business, and started to able to really think about how the things should do, and this is where liberal art / soft education is helpful.
This is exactly the reason why quite many master that are not that technical requires the applicant to have a few year of experience. (and that's the reason why we see no one complain that MBA is 水 even it seldom teach any technical skills)
5. the reason why there are not enough local student to do those CS, stat, financial engineering and etc technical role is not only because these are hard and tiring work, but also because there are not enough capable local student.
Imagine the mathematical teaching in US secondary school, and have a look in the drop out rate of STEM majors.........US simply need this visa policy else they wont have enough talents for these role no matter how high they pay. |
