1. while表示对比时，有同时发生的意思，如果并没有同时发生的含义则不用while
题目：

注意其中的split E选项除了逻辑上不太对以外，while不能用来作比较用法，因为此处并没有同时发生的意思

2. 有一些成分必要时可以理解为插入成分，可以试着去掉以便于理解。
题目：

3. propose的用法：
                             1. propose sth/doing sth  = to put forward for consideration
                             2. propose that + 虚拟语气
                             3. propose to do = to form a plan, 基本上可以看成是plan to do
                             4. propose to sb 向某人求婚
                             GMAT主要考用法1和2

4. instead of 和 rather than的用法
                      1. instead of后面加noun/noun phr.(including gerund).
                        2. rather than可以视之为并列连词，也可以视之为介词短语，所以后面可以跟名词，不带to的不定式，很少情况下还跟带主语的不定式，比如:
                            Rather than Robert drive in his present state, I’d prefer to drive him home myself.
