Topic (TWE008): Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Television has destroyed communication among friends and families. Use specific examples to support your opinion.

     Television, with its wide availability and rich in media and sound, seems to dominate people’s leisure time. It is so attractive that once ones treat it as a major entertainment it requires their full attention. No wonder many people claim that television has destroyed communication among friends and families. As far as I’m concerned, while television has been somewhat harmful in its effects, it has hardly “destroyed” the communication for most people.
     It is television that provides people with a wide rang of topics it daily life. It cannot image what we can talk with our families or friends without television. In that case, the topics will be narrowed down to “How are you today?”, “What are you doing today?” A good case in point is the situation comedy “Friends”. It gives the young a sense of humor to chat with each other with a lot of funny things. Although there are plenty of blue jokes in it, yet those are just suitable for young people.
     Furthermore, when we sit on a row with our families or friends to appreciate the act in television, it is actually an appropriate approach to communicate. Imagine you and your honey sit together, watching affectional film. Even both of you don’t speak, but you two can communicate. It is the exchange of expression of eyes in the climax of the film that speak. No sounds surpass voice at that time.
     Finally, more and more programs are designed to make interaction with audience. Participating this kind of programs drives you to cooperate with your family members to finish common tasks. After accomplishing the goal, you will find that your family actually shall lots of privities.
     There is no denying that watching too much TV can decline the time of communication. However, taking account of all what has been stated above, we can safely draw the conclusion that television can promote your communication to some extend, if you make the best of it.

However, taking account of all what has been stated above, we may reach the conclusion that if you make the best of television, it can promote your intercourse rather than destroy it.
