你发的题好多啊。。。。不过都是难题。
我的观点是这样的：

                  首先“， photographer Lotte Jacobi nevertheless 。。。。”说明了这句话已经有主语了，如果前面后面在没有AND,BUT等词的时候还有了新的主语如she，they这个句子就是run-on sentence（就错了）AE错
                  BEING貌似是想要表达她之前这样的动作或状态，然而在对比中并未体现，B错
                  D中有个when，when在gmat语法里有两种用法，1是“当” 2是指时间，这里明显是“当”。这里的意思变成了只有当她跟native Germany对比的时候，她才会less successful（也就是如果她不和native Germany对比的时候，她也成功的）显然曲解了整个意思


           根据你的问题，我认为对比的是两个地点的成功的程度吧
