关于D选项OG的解释是 （D）The final descriptor in present tense, now drawing conclusions ... does not fit the opening clause, which is in present-perfect tense (have amassed a wealth ...) and seems to modify adulthood.


看到这个解释我非常疑惑，也就是如comma+v-ing可以就近修饰紧接的名词吗？为什么答案会说后面分句“now drawing...”会修饰adulthood？
之前看过很多论坛的帖子以及查看曼哈顿，好像都没有说这个解释，好像一般都是做伴随或表示结果，即使修饰好像也是修饰主句的主语。请问comma+v-ing形式可以像题目解释说的那样修饰其最近的名词吗？理论上感觉好像是不能的，但是我没有这方面的例子研究。

因为答案前面说了comma + Ving does not fit the opening clause
所以万不得已只能modify adulthood
然而这个万不得已是错的
