工科硕士申请经济学PHD有可能吗？

系国内比较好的学校工学硕士（明年毕业），硕士期间选修了西方经济学，宏观经济学，数理经济学，计量经济学，高级宏观经济学等课程，另外还学过一些比如营销管理，国际市场营销，国际企业管理等课程。这些课成绩属于中上水平（主修课程成绩良好）。因为对自然科学研究不感兴趣，所以想改学经济学，不知到申请有多大难度，能够申请什么层次的学校。已考托福：640，GMAT：760

各位大侠指教一下。

嗯， 至少香港科大的经济学明确说了用GRE

Most Econ PhD programs definitely require GRE, as they usually do not belong to B-school (the majority of Econ dept. are categorized as one discipline of Social Sciences).

You can try to email the programs that you are interested in to see if they would accpet your GMAT score, but if you are serious in pure Econ, retaking GRE might be a better idea.

BTW, some schools have economics related programs in their business school; for example, USC has a program named "Finance and Business Economics", which is under their b-school, would accpet GMAT score. (USC has another Economics dept., and this "real Econ. dept." only considers GRE.)
