[求助]无生命名词所有格应该怎么表达？('s or of?)

以前都是说不能直接用N’s

要用 of N

EX. the capability of the respiratory system

但是在GWD中发现好多类似题目

EX. an especially serious pollutant because it diminishes the respiratory system’s ability to deal

到底应该怎么用这样的所有格呢？

"N1's N2 or "N2 of N1" ?

请NN指点一下

我个人觉得，原则上是如果是有生命名词应尽量用's结构。而无生命名词应该尽量用a of b结构。可是你举的这个例子很好！我猜肯定是在句子不划线部分吧？

哪位高人来解释解释！

's放在无生命的名词后面的在OG中很多, 不要把它作为一个判断的标准.
