TWE004 "It has been said, “Not everything that is learned is contained in books.” Compare and contrast knowledge gained from experience with knowledge gained from books. In your opinion, which source is more important? Why"下面是我的作文4体,问Books and experience 哪一个更重要?我用了1个多小时在OUTLOOK上写的,写完了放在WORD文档上才发现错字很多,错字是改了,但自我觉得太长了(500多姿),请帮忙指点一下好吗?无论牛人还是不牛人!!!!!!!!
Books and experience are the main two channels for people to get their knowledge. When asked which source is more important , different people may have different answers .I think maybe at the different time the same people may have different answers, such as me ,if I were asked 6 years ago I would choose experience because at that time I was eager to work and to practice what I learned in university .However , now I think the knowledge from books are more important to me. That is just why I want to continue my education in America.
First , the knowledge from books is the best way to improve my ability . Experience just practices the knowledge I learned but books can improve me to a higher level. As we know today the society is developing so fast we need more and more knowledge to build our career. The more we know the easier we feel to achieve our goal. I think that is why many people after having a good career return to college to continue their educations.
Secondly, the knowledge from books is more systemic and true than knowledge from experience. I think the knowledge from the books is also the experience of past people ,but it is more integrated than the pure experience . We can learn more from books and have a more clear target if read books or continue the education. Sometime knowledge from experience is less correct than knowledge from books . If we lack knowledge from books and just depend on experience sometime we will do the wrong thing . For instance , my grandfather was a farmer and used the experience to plant the apple , but one day he found his neighbor got more apples and spent less time than him .He asked the neighbor why ? The neighbor let my grandfather show her how he planted , and then gave my grandpa a book which was about planting apple. When my father read it he realized the wrong way he had experienced for more than 20 years! From then now , my grandfather told his children not only to depend on experience but to read books because books were more systemic and true than experience.
Lastly , the knowledge from books is the most efficient way to get knowledge. Before I came to America I didn't know how to cook and my parents were worried about me when I left them . However ,here I learned cooking from internet and books . Now my husband often told me how delicious the dishes I cooked were. Furthermore, he even told his parents that they should learn the skill from me if they visit us because I cooked better than them! It is really surprising to me because I have just been cooking for 10 months and his parents have more 30 years experience of cooking! Therefore , I think the books are more efficient to get knowledge than the experiences.
All in all , I think I should read books all the time , because if I just depend on the experience I will be out of date. The knowledge from books can give me wider horizon if I keep reading them.
