A. 我觉得语法没有问题， 但是被动不好。

B. 被动不好， 另外不该添加原文没有的possible这个意思。而by the study of the fruit fly和形式主语it不存在不搭配的错误。

A的表達很awkward.  正常的用法: something/someone enables someone to do something.
B的"a household nuisance and also a time-honored experimental subject"會被看成it的同位語(當然, 邏輯上不是). "by the study..."應該沒問題 -- 做狀語.
