How far are you from New Haven?

If you've never been to the New York area and the budget is reasonable, it's no hurt to have a campus visit.

But be more prepared. It would be great if you can discuss your current situation with some Chinese MBA students there first.

Thanks feifei, I am living in the west coast. Just hate the game of being invited to go all the way to New Haven and then got dinged.

However love the fame and curriculum there.

Could you pls rec some chinese students there pls, I personally do not know anyone in YALE SOM.

Unfortunately, I don't know any of them. Otherwise, I could have been more prepared.

Has this forum had someone called Cathy from Yale to give a lecture the other day? Probably she can give you more constructive advice. Just my 2 cents.

thanks Feifei, it sounds like you have been there. How did you interview go on? what were the questions the interviewer asked  you? and does he/she a adcom or a second year?

Just check the air tickets, guess what? $2238 for round trip?

Is that worth for a app to spend $2238 for 30 mins interview? May be the most expensive interview on earth.

1.呵呵,我刚开始CHECK机票时,和你的反应是一样的.但NEW HAVEN是个小地方,机票肯定贵的.我的方法是,先飞到NY,再乘METRO NORTH(火车)两个小时就到了.我是通过PRICELINE.COM标到一个好价钱的(加税才200多,我可是从南部飞过去的).

2.INTERVIEWER是二年级的一个学生,不是AD COM的人.她后面还有课,所以很匆忙的样子,对我的PROFILE没什么了解.问的也多是常规问题,但也有几个费点脑筋的.几个印象比较深的问题是:谈谈你碰到的一个CHALLENGE;在工作中是什么MOTIVATE YOU;在你的同行业中,谁是你们的最大竞争对手,你们又是以什么优势取胜的...

HOPEFULLY IT HELPS.

do you know anyone in mainland got the interview invitation? Or Yale has decided not to admit directly from mainland?

It's impossible for applicants in mainland China to get Yale's admisson this year. They only invite applicants for interview in their campus.(Interview Policy changed) And no interview, no chance according to last year's statistics. Those chinese applicants in US? Have no good news from them until now. But possible several do not show up in all kinds of forums.
