Where to apply  | Applicants may submit their visa applications to the nearest Chinese diplomatic and consular mission in their place of residence. |  | For visa applications other than from China, the applicants may send their applications to the Hong Kong Immigration Department directly or through the sponsor in Hong Kong. Such applications should be submitted to the Receipt and Despatch Unit, 2/F, Immigration Tower, 7 Gloucester Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong. |  | For Entry permit applications from Chinese residents of Taiwan, applicants may send their applications to the Hong Kong Immigration Department through their sponsors (by post or in person) in Hong Kong or one of the 21 authorised airlines. |
Application Form
How to apply To submit an application, the applicant should complete the relevant application form with the photograph affixed on it and send it with :-  | photocopy of the sponsor's Hong Kong identity card; |  | photocopies of the applicant's travel document containing the personal particulars, its date of issue, date of expiry, details of any re-entry visa held; and |  | one additional identical photograph of applicant. |
Supporting documents  | Various information and supporting documents are required for different types of visa application (i.e. for employment, training, investment, education or residence). |  | The sponsor may also be required to attend an interview in connection with the application, where necessary. |
Processing Time It normally takes 4 to 6 weeks to process an entry visa application .
Collection An entry visa label will be issued to the sponsor who will be asked to send it to the applicant.
Fee  | A prescribed fee is payable upon the issue of the visa. |  | Payment of fees in Hong Kong currency should be made by the sponsor in Hong Kong at the time of collecting the entry visa. |
