好不容易把一切都弄明白，又被新愁困扰．

为何句子前后时态不一致？在我看来前后应该都用现在时才对．这好象是个科学成果．

仔细读一下句意会发现后面说的是以前的，整句话就是在对比新老，一个不costly，一个costly

这才发现一直以来我的理解是错的！

earlier high-yielding varieties指的是以前高产量的品种，可我理解成了在早期就能高产的品种．但仔细品味了一下，确实是前一种理解正确，因为和New hardy varieties平行．

哎！ＳＣ真是字字珠肌，让人欲罢不能．
