得罪HR了，求s16背景调查流程

学校现在要进行背调，但是之前的东家hr彻底得罪了，肯定100%对我没有
好话。
学校要求提供的联系人是我当时的上司，上司对我评价还是非常不错的，
但是如果背调联系到hr，那就肯定吃瘪，不瞒各位，和hr个人矛盾太大，她视我
如仇人。
求助前辈，这种情况一般情况学校会给申请人解释机会吗？另外，联系人学校要求提供的是
我直属上司，在这个前提下，学校会再私自找公司HR进行crosscheck的几率大吗？

Hello there,
I don’t think you should worry too much (even if it’s not a good idea to offend HR). In a background check they only check FACTS - did you work there? was that your salary? did you do what you say you did? And they don’t check everybody, so just make as many applications as you can, and don’t worry too much!

Hi Jon,

A follow up question here. I have two concerns about my background check:

1) I was announced to be promoted to Title A from Title B in my current department in Jun 2015. So I put Title A as my ending title in my resume and app. Yet it turn out to be officlaly effective around 2 weeks after my submission and had been effective before my interview.

2) I omitted Title B in my resume. It shoule be like Title A (2015-present), Title B (2014-2015), but since the two titles's roles are quite similar, and these two titles are within the same department, I wrote like Title A (2014-present) and did not mentioned Title B and this promotion.

I'm a bit freaked out if this will be a deal breaker?

And can you also share the percentage/probablility of admitted students to conduct this background check?

lz你的申请已经提交了吗？我是不建议你省掉Title B这样写的，是有点误导嫌疑的。

所有学校都会进行background check的，一般是用专门的背调公司，推荐人和工作经历是分开查的，推荐人是要他们确定自己写了推荐信；工作经历是查你的简历是不是真实，这个每个学校可能不一样，有些就只看你在那个公司的工作期间对不对，有的就会仔细查你的title，这块一般都是联系公司hr来查的。如果你写的Title A (2015-present), Title B (2014-2015)，哪怕HR不配合，你也有证据（比如announcement的内部邮件）来解释。但是如果你直接写Title A (2014-present)，怎么去解读就有点说不清楚了。

我听说过传言，有人因为把预计升到实际还不是的title写到简历上被收回Offer的，lz的情况不太一样，但我觉得还是保险点好，如果可以还是改一下简历上的表述。

谢谢！我是已经交了的。其实当初省掉title B也完全是无心，加上A和B在同一个部门且职能基本一致，本来可以加上一句写promoton。你觉得如果真的被调查公司问到这么细，到时再这样解释OK吗？因为毕竟我的current title （title A）HR是可以verify的。

So look don’t worry about it. These seem to be very minor details and easily explainable. As you long as you keep to the truth, getting a date wrong by two weeks should be no big deal.

交了的话反正也做不了什么了，不准备先解释的话就到时候看情况再说吧。。。

That should also be no problem. I mean again as long as what you wrote was truthful, a slightly different title should not raise any alarms.
