yea, it is not that hard, so what? IT people (developer or not) are hottest in bschool, both pre-MBA and post-MBA. Many talented IT people I know don't give a damn about MBA. All the want to do is to start/join a startup. In contrast, tons of finance and business pre-MBA students fight for team up with top CS grads for same reason.

My friends in silicon valley who want to do MBA are at booth, haas, stern, ross and some other bschool. They don't have super strong background, just solid education/company/rec letter plus good story/reason

IT is like finance pre-crisis now.

depends on your company. if you work in google/fb/twitter etc, it is comparable to banking and consulting. not sure about smaller companies.

the good thing about IT applicants is your competitors usually have average or below average leadership experiences,  unlike banking/consulting/mgt peers. So it is easier to stand out if you have above average leadership/extracurricular experiences.
